Ottawa Senators Midget AAA Showcase
North York Rangers Defend Their Title
North York Rangers Win The Tournament!
Four days. Twenty five teams. Fifty seven games. Four hundred and fifty seven players. One champion. Congratulations to the North York Rangers, this year’s Midget AAA Showcase Champions!
Championship Sunday began with our first semifinal game, a showdown between the Waterloo Wolves and the Brampton 45s, where Anthony Pullicino scored with just three minutes to go in regulation to clinch his 45s a spot in the finals. Our second semifinal was even closer, with the North York Rangers' Ryan Hunt scoring the game-winning goal in the final twenty seconds of the game to nab a win over the Toronto Jr Canadiens.
Our championship game featured the Brampton 45s and defending champs, the North York Rangers, in an intense battle of talent. Regulation ended with a tie and victory was clinched in a four round shootout. North York's Louis Kereakou scored the goal of his life and the lone shootout goal, while goalie Andrew Cipollone stopped all four shots to win the game and defend the Midget AAA Showcase title.
A very special mention goes out to our tournament MVP, Brandon Ku, captain of the North York Rangers, for an absolutely incredible tournament! Congratulations Brandon!
